Tool Room Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Tool Room Maintenance Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency and functionality of our blow and injection moulds and processes. A background with experience and exposure to tool making and plastic blow moulding would be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out milling and lathe work, including drilling back plates, turning dies and pins, thread cutting, taper turning, etc.
  • Manufacture dies, pins, blow pins, back plates, and other parts/components for blow moulding processes.
  • Perform routine scheduled maintenance work on blow and injection moulds.
  • Prepping and cleaning moulds.
  • Adhere to and improve upon the company’s health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Utilize team-working skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels within production, technical, and management departments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, take initiative and be a self-starter.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant hands-on experience in a similar role involving the Key Responsibilities listed above.
  • An understanding of blow moulding processes and equipment.
  • Excellent analytical thinking and attention to detail.
  • The ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in operating manual/conventional machines.

Extrusion Blowmoulding Diesetter/Technician

We’re seeking an experienced setter/technician to join our day shift on a full time basis. You will ideally hold an engineering trade and/or plastics technology certificate and have proven experience in the extrusion blow moulding industry.

Trainee Blowmoulding Diesetter/Technician

We’re seeking applications from people who are enthusiastic and looking to start a career in the plastic industry as an extrusion blow moulding die setter.

You will be required to:

  • Assist with die setting, changing jobs and setting up machines
  • Assist with die maintenance
  • Completing the required unit standards training on and off the job

What are we looking for?

  • The ability to demonstrate mechanical skills/understanding.
  • A keen interest in and an aptitude for mechanical areas.
  • Suitable NCEA passes, and/or a pre-trade NZQA qualification
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills and the ability to read and understand machine manuals and drawings.
  • Good understanding of English, both written & verbal
  • A willingness to keep learning and developing new skills
  • Committed to 2 – 3 years study while you work
  • Have good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Health & Safety awareness.
  • Serious about achieving a trade qualification and starting a career – willing to sit the required unit standards to complete NZ Trade Certificate in Plastics Processing – Die Setter
